- a sound, especially one that is loud or unpleasant or that causes disturbance.
e.g. "Mad King Ludwig makes noise like you've seldom heard before"
- irregular fluctuations that accompany a transmitted electrical signal but are not part of it and tend to obscure it.
"Ludwig's foghorn voice is joyfully at odds with his androgynous image", Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

Mad King Ludwig's début album, Do What Makes You Happy, is due for release on 13th January 2019, and showcases Ludwig’s broad, eclectic and mad songwriting ability, as well as his octopus-esque musical talent – he sings, plays guitar, piano, double bass, saxophone and kitchen percussion on the record. It features special guests, on stinging slide guitar, aching orchestral strings, and primal double-bass and drums.
It is an emotionally-charged record, as the title madly suggests.
"Being a musician is often a real pain in the arse," Ludwig laughs. "So you have to remind yourself that you're doing it because you enjoy it, because it makes you happy. You can get so obssessed with numbers, emails, figures, that your true joy gets lost in this thick alphabet soup nonsense of the modern musical landscape. Music is best and most vital when it is written as if the musician is trapped on a desert island. On a desert island, no-one will likely ever hear what you're up to, so you might as well do what you love, and you can't help but do what is true to you, as there's no-one around to seem to judge you."
"Do What Makes You Happy - what other choice is there?"
- from the Germanic name Chlodovech ; composed of the elements hlud "famous" and wig "war, battle"
